I was going to post about this and title it "Sharon McDonough Worst Parent Poster-Mom". What kind of sick person would ask her child to kill an animal, much less their loved pet as a punishment? Deranged beyond all recovery, hopefully the kid has a reasonable father or relatives that can cherish and nurture him better.

I can barely stand to see my daughter crying much less involve her in something so digusting. Only insane people would do something like this. I do hope lightning strikes them and leave them alive to suffer the years left to them. Those poor animals and those kids! I shudder to think what the mental repercussions of this will be to them. I just hope they survive it.

I know Lynn Middlebrooks, and although I can't even imagine why the thought of having her son hurting the hamster even came to her mind, but I know that no matter what is said it will never make up for the damage done. My prayers are with the children. The boy was not twelve he was thirteen and his birthday was last week. The story also didn't tell that they took all children. There are two younger than him. I love these children and my heart goes out to them. But can you imagine that not only did they loose there pet and have to help, but they also lost there whole family and friends. That poor boy is gonna think he lost his daddy and grandparents all because of bad grades. Now my mama taught me there is always two sides to every story and I am not gonna judge no one. Only they know the truth but I will say what the papers and news puts out makes my stomach turn and my heart ache

Where, I wonder, did the old editorial qualifications like "allegedly" and "reputedly" go? This Westmoreland woman has NOT been convicted of any crime, and yet no-one seems concerned with that little issue. No, let's post the woman's address and ENCOURAGE everyone on the Internet to wreak who knows what kind of havoc upon her...are you hoping some zealot will burn her house down, maybe? You people have decided, based upon maybe six lines of less than marginal reporting, compiled entirely from what some cops claim a 12- YEAR OLD BOY said, that she really did this heinous act? Maybe she did, maybe she didn't, maybe, as I suspect, the truth lies somewhere in between and is a HECK of a lot more complex. Whichever way, this is one scary example of how justice gets done, and how ready we all are to condemn our fellows at the dimmest accusation. I'm guessing a lot of you style yourselves "Christians"; didn't that Nazarene carpenter you're always going on about have some things to say about Sin and stone-throwing, Judgement- that sort of stuff? I'm nor SURPRISED by any of this, mind you...only disgusted.

As for the innocent until proven guilty, she doesn't exactly have much defense. Witnesses, evidence, etc. I'm more that willing to re-evaluate if either of them offered up any counter explanation. But they haven't. Fuck you #2

Turner, I hate to burst your bubble, but I am not a professional journalist. This is a blog. However, I frequently do try to get more information than the average reporter (I have been the victim of poor reporting myself). I am not bound by the need to sell newspapers - We here at World of Suck do not get paid for our writing. If you feel I missed any valuable information, please feel free to share. SHES innocent.... it was blown out of proportion....

Sharon plead guilty and was sentenced to 2 years in prison. Oh, and all of her non-adult children were taken into foster car, with an order of protection that will prevent her from seeing them after she's released.

Sadly, she may be able to get parole in a relatively short period of time because she's been held in jail since her 2009 arrest, which means she's already served a significant portion of her sentence.

So... no. Sharon's not innocent. She's not even really denying the facts.

As for Lynn, it's harder to say. There hasn't been any recent press I was able to find for an update. Equally, there has been no exculpatory evidence mentioned either.

"not important", perhaps you should be more precise in your commenting - Which of the two women are you claiming is innocent? And tell the dead animals that is was blown out of proportion. Someone killed them and from where I sit, just killing an animal without a good reason is depraved. Feel free to share your privileged knowledge with us.

Sharon McDonough got released from RIverhead Jail moments ago - shame she got out after a little of a year in county jail for what she did she belongs in prison for destroying and screwing up her children's lives not to mention all those animals.

Sharon is unfit to live in any civilized society.I hope her neighbors in Selden [note I did not say friends and neighbors as I strongly doubt she has any] cross the street when they see her. She should thank her master SATAN that it was not in my power to determine her punishment.
