A few years ago I took a class on terrorism. Terrorism is called that because the real goal is terror, typically by killing or maiming people. However scaring the crap out of people and making them second guess every move is really the main goal.

So, the Christmas day bomber wanna-be did accomplish the task of terrorizing us. The TSA and Homeland Security are twitching all over the place. Any newly implemented measures will be and are little more than playing into the terrorist hands and showing that we are scared. The terrorists tap the knee of the US with a little mallet and the US obliges with a knee jerk. The common man suffers through the repercussions doled out by security. The would-be terrorist does not suffer because he considers himself a martyr for the cause so any punishment is earning him a place in heaven in his mind.

The TSA and Homeland Security should stop jerking their knee. Any actions should be considered carefully so as to not traumatize the traveling public anymore than necessary. Flying sucks enough as it is, why make it worse?
