A few days ago I posted about an issue with my dish. A couple of phone calls later and DirecTV sends a tech out the very next day.. ON TIME even. In fact, their automated phone attendant called me 30 minutes ahead and even asked if it was still ok to come over now. It even called after he left to see how he did.. lol.
Wow... all I can say is wow. The dude took a quick look around and didn't like any of the original installation. In a matter of 45 minutes he completely re-ran wiring, set a new pole in concrete for the dish, replaced the dish and LNB and was on his way. All at no charge. Evidently the original installer was a sub-contractor for DirecTV.. not a company technician. The dish was wrong, wiring was wrong, placement/location was wrong. I tend to agree, I have solid signals on all 3 satellites no lower than 96 on a very cloudy day.
This guy claims that if you want shit done right you ask for a company employee specifically when you call into their service department. I was not so impressed with their ditzy phone tech support people who are obviously reading from manuals or help books, but I'm extremely happy with their field service so far. No way I'm ever going back to cable again.. ever. The thought of dealing with the cable companies makes my blood boil, eyes spin and seriously considering harming someone.
