I don't care dude, there's no guarantee that you're feet are germ, disease and dirt free.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- A man is battling the Ohio Statehouse over the right to bare feet. Bob Neinast said his feet hurt when he wears shoes, so he goes barefoot nearly everywhere, even in winter. The man from the Columbus suburb of Pickerington calls it a healthy lifestyle that makes him feel closer to places he visits.

Slippers hurt his feet? What a fucking wuss. I suppose I'd be ok with him stomping around a public building in his bare feet if he were to either: a) soak his tootsies in bleach before coming in or b) spray the floor with Lysol after each step.

Sounds like a compromise to me mmm'k?

I don't have much of a problem with him walking bare-footed. However, he (and every imbecile chick with flimsy flip flops) should have to sign a waver when he goes into certain areas. We wear shoes for protection. If he opts out of that protection and gets hurt, tough tootsies.

Shoes carry in the same things his bare feet are.. there is no difference. The same junk you step in with a shoe on will be present on bare feet walking thru the same stuff. So wearing shoes for cleanliness to others in a store doesn't make sense. We aren't crawling around on the floors afterall.

I agree with Odessa, its probably more for protection from slipping and falling since most places have shiny slippery floors, especially when wet.

I have to go with Bman on this one. We physically evolved to walk around barefoot. Shoes are artificial constructs "shoe-horned" onto us (much like horse shoes) primarily for additional protection of our soles, and not much else.
