I love a good glass of wine. White or red doesn't matter really. So, when a local wine store has a tasting I am all over it like mud on a pig. Besides, who wants to pass up a free buzz - not I!

At the table featuring Italian wines, I take in the subtle aroma of melon from a pinot grigio. Nose buried in the glass, just as I am about to take a sip and I get an overwhelming fragrance . . . of spice. I pause and I regain my senses to realize that the woman who just stuffed herself next to me decided that more was better with her perfume this morning. She later ruined the finish of a Spanish wine. As I was thinking "hmm, don't remember . . . " just looked up to see her.

Ladies (and some men) subtle is better with fragrances. Think dash not marinade. And especially when someone will be relying on their taste buds to select one item over another. Wine and perfume don't mix. Please skip the Cinnabar (or any other fragrance). You wouldn't like me to miss the dump bucket with the remnants of that zinfandel, would you?
