Get this guy, Dr. Jeffrey Segal. As a doctor he's made a business of attacking patients who publish their views on the medical treatment they've gotten from *any* doctor. Well, not just *any* doctor but ones that paid him money. Sounds a bit like a protection racket doesn't it?
Hey buddy, First Amendment, I'm guessing you know what that is don't you?
His company, Medical Justice, is based in Greensboro, N.C. For a fee, it provides doctors with a standardized waiver agreement. Patients who sign agree not to post online comments about the doctor, ''his expertise and/or treatment.'' [...]
Segal's company advises doctors to have all patients sign the agreements. If a new patient refuses, the doctor might suggest finding another doctor. Segal said he knows of no cases where longtime patients have been turned away for not signing the waivers. (AP)
So in essence instead of being able to post comments about doctors (like you can about, say politicians, car mechanics or lawyers) they should get special treatment because... well they're doctors. You know that's exactly why this is outrageous. God complex much? Why not put in a clause on your contract that any patient that even mentions the doctor without the proper awe and respect should get beheaded? I know a few religions that embrace that policy.
John Swapceinski, co-founder of RateMDs.com, said that in recent months, six doctors have asked him to remove negative online comments based on patients' signed waivers. He has refused.
Did you get that everyone? Check out RateMDs.com. The site Dr. Jeff doesn't want you to look at.
Oh yeah and if I ever find a doctor trying to get me to sign one of your wavers? Well I'll know to thank you for saving me from a Doctor that must suck, because he's afraid of what people say about him. Because I won't be signing that shit 'k thanks.
